Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Heal from the past. Reclaim your life.

PTSD can make it feel like the trauma never ended — flashbacks, nightmares, and constant hypervigilance keeping you trapped in the past. Hypnotherapy offers a gentle, powerful path to healing by working directly with the unconscious mind where traumatic memories are stored.

Understanding PTSD

What Is PTSD?

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder develops in some people after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event — such as combat, a serious accident, physical or sexual assault, natural disaster, or the sudden loss of a loved one. While it is normal to feel distressed after trauma, PTSD occurs when the symptoms persist for months or years and significantly disrupt daily life.

PTSD affects approximately 8 million adults in the United States each year. It is not a sign of weakness — it is the mind and body's response to an overwhelming experience that was too much to process at the time.

The traumatic memory becomes "frozen" in the unconscious mind, continuing to trigger the same fear response as if the event were still happening. Hypnotherapy is uniquely suited to healing PTSD because it works directly at this unconscious level — gently processing and releasing the stored trauma so it no longer controls your life.

Recognizing the Signs

Symptoms of PTSD

  • Flashbacks — reliving the traumatic event as if it is happening again
  • Nightmares and disturbing dreams about the trauma
  • Severe emotional distress when reminded of the event
  • Avoiding thoughts, feelings, or reminders of the trauma
  • Emotional numbness or feeling detached from others
  • Persistent negative beliefs about yourself or the world
  • Hypervigilance — being constantly on alert for danger
  • Exaggerated startle response to sudden sounds or movements
  • Difficulty sleeping and concentrating
  • Irritability, angry outbursts, or reckless behavior

Symptoms typically begin within 3 months of the traumatic event but may not appear until years later. If you recognize these signs, help is available.

You Are Not Alone

PTSD does not only affect combat veterans. It can develop after any traumatic experience — a car accident, a medical emergency, childhood abuse, a violent crime, or the sudden death of someone close to you.

Whatever the source of your trauma, you deserve to heal — and healing is absolutely possible with the right support.

Why Traditional Therapy Can Fall Short

Talk therapy requires clients to consciously revisit and discuss their trauma — which can be re-traumatizing and slow. Medication manages symptoms but does not resolve the underlying traumatic memory.

Hypnotherapy works differently — it accesses the unconscious mind directly, allowing the traumatic memory to be processed and released without reliving the full intensity of the original experience.

The Solution

How Hypnotherapy Heals PTSD

Trauma lives in the unconscious mind — and that is exactly where hypnotherapy works.

1

Processes Traumatic Memories Safely

Hypnotherapy allows the unconscious mind to revisit and reprocess traumatic memories in a safe, controlled state — removing the intense emotional charge attached to them without re-traumatizing the client.

2

Neutralizes Triggers

PTSD triggers are unconscious conditioned responses. Hypnotherapy identifies and desensitizes these triggers at the source, so reminders of the trauma no longer produce overwhelming reactions.

3

Restores a Sense of Safety

Trauma destroys the sense of safety. Through hypnotherapy, Dr. Siebert helps clients rebuild a deep, unconscious feeling of security and calm — allowing them to re-engage with life fully.

4

Resolves Survivor's Guilt & Negative Beliefs

Many PTSD sufferers carry deep shame, guilt, or distorted beliefs formed during the trauma. Hypnotherapy works at the unconscious level to replace these with accurate, healthy perspectives.
